I got some bar stools a couple of years ago from http://www.craigslist.com/ (My fav spot 4 free stuff). They were baby pink when I got them and I had this idea to sand off the paint and restain them dark wood...years later I had 1/2 sanded, 1/2 pink barstools......I decided to go ahead and revamp those too. A couple of coats of glossy black spray paint and some fabric stapled on and voila!! I dont have a before pic...but the after is pretty cute if I must say so myself.
